A sketch of a ballet dancer # 1

this is the first of a series of watercolour sketches of ballet dancers, I feel it is a good idea to do sets of paintings, as I am focused right now on faces and characters of old men, who I see when I am downtown, and the graceful movements and shapes of the dancers I meet at the theatre

another ballet dancer

8" by 11" watercolours on montval 300gms canson paper I have done a prior sketch for this one, and eliminated unnecessary details, and fewer colours in order to focus on shadows and depict light... more figures

Figues and people just draw me like a magnet to look at people i a coffee shop or a mall, and watch the light catch a colour in the hair or the skin tone ad transrer the scee into a magical hing that begs to be painted, at the same time catch a special emotional moment at the same time ...   Usually I start without a sketch and a very diluted wash and drop in colours ... and have so much fun
